I have one very important plea to the Yuri on Ice fandom post-ep 7:

Please buy the DVDs/BDs or merchandise from the show, please support this anime in any way you can.

Because the anime industry is so small that 5,000 or 10,000 more copies sold may make a huge difference. We’re all rejoicing over Victor and Yuuri and their healthy romance and how Japan will never produce a better (or an equally good) gay couple. But they can, if we the fans, show them that this is good, that it’s not risky that it won’t make them lose money then they will give us more. The moment they realize that what we want is healthy gay romance, not cheap fanservice or fetishy yaoi, then they will plunge right into it.

And the only way for us, the international community to show them that is to buy the official DVD/BDs and merchandise.

I beg you guys. If this is what you want in anime and if you can contribute then please do.

Because this doesn’t have to be our first and last victory in terms of LGBT representation in anime. It can be the beginning of a new era. And it all depends on us.
